pets in the night at 3AM
-
Peak Energy Hour: Pets’ internal clocks can be different from ours. Around 3 AM, cats are often at their most active—they’re natural crepuscular hunters, meaning dawn and dusk (and late-night hours) are when they get hyper. Dogs can also have bursts of energy if they didn’t get enough exercise.
-
Midnight Mischief, Part II: That’s when they may start knocking things over, playing with toys, or exploring corners they never touch during the day.
-
Cuddling or Crying for Attention: Some pets come to wake you up—especially dogs—because they feel lonely, need a bathroom break, or just want a secret midnight snack.
-
Dream Adventures: If they’re asleep, 3 AM is right in REM sleep territory. Expect twitching paws, little barks, or meows—they’re likely chasing invisible prey or having epic dreams.
-
House “Security Checks”: Cats and dogs might patrol the house to make sure everything’s “safe.” Yes, your furniture, doors, and even shadows get inspected.
Basically, 3 AM is pet chaos o’clock, either in dreamland or real-world mischief. Some call it the “witching hour” for pets.
